The Grand Prix Contenders

Oscar Piastri holds the advantage over teammate Lando Norris in the title race. Piastri leads the way in the World Drivers’ Championship standings with 324 points to his name.

Norris is frantically chasing down the Aussie, but the Brit finds himself 31 points behind with eight races to go. We will no doubt see plenty more thrills and spills before the season ends in Abu Dhabi.

There is hardly anything to split Piastri and Norris in the pre-race betting market. Piastri is the slight favourite before qualifying at 2.40, with Norris just behind at 2.70.

Max Verstappen showed his world champion driving abilities by winning the Italian Grand Prix last time out. It was a superb performance by Red Bull’s main man, winning for the first time since the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in May.

Verstappen is McLaren’s biggest rival this season, though retaining the world title is now out of the question. Still, he will be eyeing up more race wins before the season is out, and the 27-year-old is available at 4.50 to win in Baku.

Ferrari have had a frustrating season, and the Italian team missed out on the podium in their home Grand Prix a fortnight ago.

Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton aim to regain some pride in the remaining races. Leclerc is available at 8.00 this weekend, while Hamilton is priced at 19.00.

George Russell is one of the top drivers, but the Englishman has yet to win a race this year. The Mercedes man is available at 17.00, with teammate Andrea Kimi Antonelli priced at huge odds of 71.00. It could be another disappointing weekend for Mercedes.

McLaren One-Two in Baku?

Both Piastri and Norris missed out on a race win last time out, but the pair should battle for first place in Baku this weekend. It could go either way, but we fancy Norris to claw back some precious points on Piastri.

The 25-year-old from Bristol has spent large chunks of the season in his teammate’s shadow, but Norris also has five race wins to his name. He is available at 2.70 to win the Azerbaijan Grand Prix.

Leclerc missed out on the rostrum in Italy, but the Ferrari ace has secured five top-three finishes this year. You can get 1.80 for Leclerc to finish on the podium in Baku.
