Carl Froch Interview: “McGregor’s acting skills are more Vinnie Jones than Stallone”
In an exclusive interview with Lucky Block crypto casino, former Super Middleweight World Champion Carl Froch reckons Conor McGregor has no chance of being the next Sylvester Stallone after the UFC star made his acting debut in Road House.
Froch revealed who he believes would win if a prime Mike Tyson and Tyson Fury slugged it out and also claimed he would ‘absolutely obliterate’ Jake Paul if the two were ever to share a ring.
- Conor McGregor could be the next Vinnie Jones but definitely not Sly Stallone
- Mike Tyson at his peak would beat Tyson Fury despite height difference
- I would absolutely obliterate Jake Paul – he looked s**t in his last fight
McGregor’s acting skills are more Vinnie Jones than Sly Stallone
Conor McGregor reportedly has a surprisingly large role as ‘Knox’ in the upcoming movie Road House which is released in March. While Froch was impressed by The Notorious’ stage presence, he feels comparisons Hollywood legend Slyvester Stallone are rather optimistic;
Carl Froch: “I saw a clip where Conor McGregor looked really good. He looked quite big and looked as if he’d put some weight on but he was in good shape. I don’t know if he was playing himself but it was pretty good and I was quite impressed with the clip I saw. I don’t know about the next Sylvester Stallone though. Maybe the next Vinnie Jones or someone like that. But not Stallone. Stallone’s a legend. He wrote all his own scripts, then he acted the parts. He got kicked in the teeth countless times by Hollywood. No one wanted to let him in but he stuck at it. He didn’t sell the script for Rocky when he could have done and made more money than he ever would have.”
Mike Tyson would have rendered Tyson Fury unconscious
A question that’s been doing the rounds on social media is; Who would’ve come out on top if Tyson Fury and Mike Tyson had fought while they were in their prime? Froch believes the outcome would have been a Mike Tyson win by knockout in the middle rounds;
Carl Froch: “Mike Tyson knocked out a few big lumps and tall guys too. I think Tyson Fury would be able to keep him out of the way for an amount of time but you’re talking about a peak Mike Tyson, who was world champion at 20. I think a peak Mike Tyson beats almost anybody. Just the way he used to be in the ring he was a dangerous, dangerous man. He didn’t stop throwing punches. He used to roll his way into range. If they tried to grab him, he’d push him off and he’d throw big hooks and big uppercuts and he’d land on the chin and render them unconscious. I think the answer to that question for me would be Mike Tyson beats Tyson Fury.”
Jake Paul doesn’t want that smoke, he’s just talking s***e
Jake Paul beat Andre August in December but Froch was far from impressed, labelling his performance as ‘awful’. Talk of Froch and Paul fighting had quietened down but the Cobra has now reignited the war of words;
Carl Froch: “Jake Paul’s bottled it. KSI, well KSI never really had a go, but Jake Paul is really disappointing. Because Jake Paul actually called me out. And then people say, oh, Froch is calling out Jake Paul. He’s run out of money. It’s like, no, do you not know Froch? He’s a clever guy. He’s got good investments. He’s in a good position financially. You mentioned Carl Froch’s name. I said, go on then. You want to talk to me? Let’s talk. And then he said, oh, fight Anderson Silva to prove yourself. Then fight me.
“I’m like, mate, I’m 47 years old. I don’t need to fight somebody. Listen, I got back to Jake Paul. I said, okay, I’ll fight Anderson Silva. But I’ll fight Anderson Silva and I’ll fight you on the same night. I’ll fight both of you. Because Anderson Silva, he’s a legend in the mixed martial arts game and, I wouldn’t like to fight him, but if I had to, I would do it, and I’d make easy work of it, because he’s not a professional boxer. And then I’d go in there after beating him and just, absolutely obliterate Jake Paul. He’s just talking shite and looking awful in his fights.”
