McGregor giving back to combat sports is smart move
Ebanie Bridges admires the fact the Conor McGregor is investing in up-and-coming boxers and shut down internet trolls who suggested he only sponsored her because of her physical appearance;
“He’s smart getting into boxing, because if you think about it, there’s fights nearly every weekend. So he’s sponsoring the shows and he sponsors a lot of other boxers. I love that he’s giving back to the boxing community. I love that he’s giving back to combat sports, because he could just keep all that money, but he’s giving back and you don’t have to do that.
“I’ve seen some comments online like, ‘Oh, you need to have tits and blond hair to get sponsored.’ I’m like, ‘hey, I think he pretty much sponsors every single boxer on all the shows.’ They’ve all got a partnership with Forged Stout.”
Ebanie and Conor: A business partnership made in heaven
The Blonde Bomber is effectively the face of McGregor’s Forged Stout brand and she is adamant that their commercial link up will be for the long haul, rather than just a flash in the pan,
“Obviously, mine and his collaboration is a little bit deeper. I’m a bit of a face for Forged Stout now. I can obviously learn a lot from him as well, where he is in his career for when I finish and what he’s doing, I think is really inspiring.
“It was natural and we’ll be working together for, I would say, the remainder of my career. We work really well together. Obviously I’m great for his brand and he’s obviously great for my brand, and we get along really well.”
McGregor is in training but keeping quiet on next opponent
McGregor has been out of action since his back-to-back defeats to Dustin Poirer in the first half of 2021 and recently said he hopes to fight again in May 2024. Bridges said The Notorious is keeping his cards close to his chest with regard to his next opponent;
“I don’t know who it will be but I know he’s training. I’ve seen clips of him training and he’s busy in the gym. I don’t know if he puts it on his socials. I don’t really look at his social pages to be fair, but I’ve obviously seen some of his training stuff that he’s done.
“I think he’s a little bit like me. When we go to the gym, we just train. I don’t need to put it all over my socials that I’m training. Some people like to get on their phone in the gym and record their workouts. I know fans like to see it, but honestly, when I get in the gym, I just put my head down and I want to train.”
