Watford and Norwich clash in an all-EFL Championship cup tie at Vicarage Road on Tuesday night. Both teams are hoping to bounce back from opening-weekend defeats.

Watford got their season up and running with a disappointing loss at newly promoted Charlton Athletic. Harvey Knibbs scored at the death to give the Addicks a narrow 1-0 home win.

Norwich suffered a 2-1 home loss to Millwall on Saturday. The game was heading for a 1-1 draw, but Macaulay Langstaff won it for the Lions with seven minutes remaining at Carrow Road.

Both teams are looking to record their first victory of the campaign, but who will come out on top at Vicarage Road? It could be close, but we are siding with a home win (2.22).

Baggies to Bounce into Round Two

West Brom welcome Derby to The Hawthorns in midweek cup action. The Baggies are searching for another win after edging past Blackburn Rovers on the opening weekend of the Championship.

West Brom sealed a 1-0 victory over Blackburn on Saturday, with Isaac Price netting the only goal. Ryan Mason’s side could be in the mix for promotion this season.

Derby’s league season started with a 3-1 loss at Stoke City. The Rams took the lead on the hour mark, but the Potters were level ten minutes later. Stoke nicked it with two late goals from Divin Mubama and Sorba Thomas.

Mason will no doubt chop and change his starting eleven, but the Baggies should see off Derby at The Hawthorns. We like the look of the home win -1 at 3.10.

Blues to See Off Blades at St Andrew’s

Birmingham and Sheffield United square off on Wednesday in one of the standout EFL Cup first-round ties. The Blues are the favourites to win on their own patch.

Birmingham were minutes away from winning their opening league match last weekend, but Ipswich Town rescued a point late on thanks to a dubious penalty.

Sheffield United were on the wrong end of one of the shock results of the opening weekend. Ruben Selles’ troops fell to a heavy 4-1 home loss to Bristol City, leaving them bottom of the Championship table.

The Blades could be in for more woe in midweek, with our money going on a Birmingham victory. You can get 4.50 for the home win and both teams to score.
