Easy Victory for Alcaraz

Reigning men’s champion Carlos Alcaraz kicks off his title defence with a first-round match with Japanese player Kei Nishikori. As expected, the superb Spaniard is the overwhelming favourite to progress.

Alcaraz’s preparation for this Grand Slam tournament was perfect, winning the Italian Open in Rome earlier in the month. He picked up his first French Open last year, defeating Alexander Zverev in a thrilling final.

Alcaraz should start his 2025 campaign with an easy win in front of an expectant Roland Garros crowd. The No. 2 seed is priced at 1.50 to secure a 3-0 victory in round one.

Comfortable Opener for Swiatek

In the women’s section, Iga Swiatek gets her tournament underway on Sunday against Rebecca Sramkova. The Polish ace won the 2024 French Open and starts the 2025 edition as the bookies’ favourite.

Swiatek had a sensational time in Paris last year, easing past Jasmine Paolini in the final to win her fourth French Open crown and third in a row. The Warsaw-born star has dominated the premier clay-court competition and is certainly the player to beat.

Swiatek begins her trophy defence against Slovakian Sramkova, who was knocked out in the first round last year. The champion should cruise to victory in her opening match, and Swiatek to win -1.5 at 1.22 is the standout bet.

Draper to Reach Round Two

In-form Jack Draper could be one to watch in Paris, and the Briton will be looking for a routine victory in his opening match against Mattia Bellucci. The world No. 5 is the heavy favourite to see off the Italian.

Draper has been knocked out in round one two years running, but the Londoner is in great form and should have no issues this weekend. He claimed a 100^th career win in the Italian Open and recently won the Indian Wells Open.

Bellucci reached the quarter-final of the 2024 Atlanta Open and is a capable player on his day, but Draper should get the job done on Sunday. The 3-1 correct score in the Brit’s favour has caught the eye at odds of 3.40.
