The 2025 European Tour may be drawing to a close, but we have more thrilling action to look forward to. Ireland’s big event is always one worth tuning in for.

Danish ace Rasmus Holjgaard won the 69^th edition at Royal County Down last year, edging out McIlroy by a stroke. The world No. 2 is looking to go one better in 2025.

McIlroy is the bookies’ favourite at the K Club, priced at just 5.00 to take the trophy home. He won this tournament in 2016, scoring 276 to win by 3 strokes.

McIlroy has had a memorable 2025 season, winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the Players Championship, and the Masters Tournament. Can he add the Irish Open to his list of accolades this week?

Tyrrell Hatton has also been tipped to have a strong tournament in County Kildare. The 33-year-old’s last victory was the Hero Dubai Desert Classic in January.

On his day, Hatton can win any tournament. He is an eight-time winner on the European Tour, and you can get 10.00 for Hatton to come out on top this weekend in Ireland.

Marco Penge is the third favourite in the pre-tournament betting market. The Englishman has had a breakthrough year on the European Tour, winning the Hainan Classic and Danish Golf Championship.

Penge has picked up five wins since turning professional in 2017 and is searching for a third victory in 2025. The 27-year-old is available at 13.00.

Shane Lowry could also be one to watch at the K Club. The Dubliner would love to win his home tournament, and he heads to Straffan as the fourth favourite at 15.00.

Elsewhere, Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen is available at 19.00, while Jordan Smith is priced at 23.00. Also, keep an eye on Thorbjorn Olesen at 26.00 and Keita Nakajima at 31.00.

Rory to Reign Supreme in Ireland

McIlroy is due a tournament triumph, having not lifted a trophy since winning the Masters in April. He will be tough to topple at the K Club, and the world’s second-best golfer is worth backing at 5.00.
