Cardiff City entertain Peterborough United in Saturday’s early League One kick off. The Bluebirds are lining up in the third tier for the first time since 2003.
Cardiff’s long stay in the top two tiers of English football ended last season, as the Welsh club finished rock bottom of the Championship table. New boss Brian Barry-Murphy has been tasked to take the team back to the second division on the first attempt.
Peterborough had a poor 2024-25 season, finishing in 18th on just 51 points. Getting anything from the Welsh capital on the opening weekend will be a tall order for Posh.
Cardiff will look to dominate from the first whistle, and the Bluebirds should be too hot for Darren Ferguson’s men to handle. Back the home team to be winning at half time and full time at 2.35.

On Sunday, Stockport County and Bolton Wanderers lock horns at Edgeley Park. With both teams gunning for promotion this term, this season opener promises to be a thriller.
Stockport finished third behind Birmingham City and Wrexham last season, missing out on promotion in the play-offs. Big things are expected of County this term.
Bolton had a disappointing campaign, finishing in eighth place, but the Trotters are currently the fifth favourites for the 2025-26 title. Can Wanderers pick up a positive result on the opening weekend?
This could be close, but we fancy the home side to edge Sunday’s showdown at Edgeley Park. Put some money on the home win and both teams to score (3.80).
