Littler has booked his place in a second consecutive World Championship final. “The Nuke” nearly got his hands on the trophy last year, losing out to Luke Humphries by seven sets to four.
Van Gerwen is back in the biggest game of darts after several years away. The 35-year-old is a three-time world champion, but he has not lifted the coveted Sid Waddell trophy since 2019.
“The Nuke” beat Ryan Meikle, Ian White, Ryan Joyce, and Nathan Aspinall to set up a semi-final clash with the popular Stephen Bunting. Littler made light work of “The Bullet”, winning 6-1 to reach the final.
Van Gerwen also won his semi by six legs to one, as “The Green Machine” was too hot for Chris Dobey to handle. The Dutchman also saw off James Hurrell, Brendan Dolan, Jeffrey de Graaf, and Callan Rydz at Ally Pally.
