As expected, Scheffler is the bookies’ favourite to come out on top in Dublin. The world No. 1 is beginning to find his feet after a slow start to the 2025 season, winning two of the last five PGA Tour competitions.
Scheffler picked up another major earlier in the month, winning the PGA Championship in North Carolina. A few weeks prior, the New Jersey-born ace won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in Texas.
Scheffler is hoping to win the US Open for the first time in his career. This year’s edition will be the 125th, and Scheffler is the early favourite at 4.30.
As for this week’s Memorial, Scheffler has been tipped by many to retain the trophy in Ohio. Last year, he shot -8 to finish 1 stroke ahead of compatriot Colin Morikawa. Scheffler is available at 3.50 to win the 2025 edition.
If Scheffler is not at his best at Muirfield, the likes of Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, and Morikawa are ready to pounce – all three are priced at 14.00.
Elsewhere in the betting, Patrick Cantlay is priced at 17.00, and you can get 19.00 for Tommy Fleetwood to prevail. As for standout outsiders, Shane Lowry is available at 26.00, and Truist Championship champion, Sepp Straka, is further back at 31.00.
Scheffler to Retain in Dublin
Scheffler is looking for his best form ahead of next month’s US Open. After winning the PGA Championship, he will be looking for his second major of the year.
Scheffler had a great time in Ohio last year, scoring 280 and winning by a stroke. He goes into every tournament looking to dominate, and this season’s Memorial is no different. Even at 3.50, we are backing the world’s best to come out on top.
Cantlay has had plenty of success in this tournament. He picked up his first win in 2019, beating Adam Scott to the line by 2 strokes. Two years later, “Patty Ice” was at it again, seeing off Morikawa in a playoff to secure his second Memorial crown.
Cantlay is still more than capable of winning on the PGA Tour. He is an experienced campaigner at 33, and the Californian could be one to watch in Dublin.
Beating Scheffler will take some doing, but we are backing Cantlay to have another strong tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club. You can get the tempting betting odds of 4.00 for the two-time Memorial winner to finish in the top five.
