Salzburg and Brugge lock horns on Wednesday in a tasty Champions League qualifier. The Austrians are hoping to make home advantage count in this first leg, although the Belgians will be no pushovers at the Red Bull Arena.

Eagles to Fly Away from Nice with a Lead

Nice and Benfica meet in one of the standout Champions League qualifiers of the week. The Portuguese side reached the Round of 16 last term, and Bruno Lage’s men are the favourites to progress to the play-offs.

Nice finished fourth in Ligue 1 last term, collecting 60 points to take the final UCL slot. This will be their first Champions League qualifier since 2017.

Benfica reached the last 16 of UEFA’s elite club competition last term and made it to the knockout stage of the recent 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Winning the Primeira Liga is always the priority, but the Eagles are looking to go far in Europe again.

Lage’s Reds will back themselves to pick up a positive result in France, and we fancy Benfica to take a lead into next week’s second leg in Lisbon. There is great value in 3.60 for the Portuguese team to win -1 at the Allianz Riviera.

Cardiff make the midweek trip to Vale Park to face Port Vale in League One. A win for the Bluebirds would put them three points clear at the top before the other teams play over the weekend.

Port Vale started life back in League One with a narrow loss at Rotherham United. The Valiants were outdone with two goals in the first period, as both sides finished with ten players at the New York Stadium.

Cardiff came from behind to win their first third-tier game for over two decades. The Welsh team were a goal down at the break, but two stunning second-half strikes from Rubin Colwill and Ronan Kpakio gave Brian Barry-Murphy’s boys a deserved 2-1 victory over Peterborough United.

Cardiff should have enough quality in their ranks to see off last season’s EFL League Two runners-up. Back the away team to come out on top at 2.30.
