Pacers to Edge Past Knicks in Garden

New York and Indiana open the Eastern Conference finals series with a midweek game at Madison Square Garden. Tom Thibodeau’s troops are the favourites to win the opener, but the in-form Pacers are gunning for a victory in Midtown Manhattan.

New York did tremendously well to see off Boston Celtics in the previous round. Knicks picked up a 4-2 series victory in the Conference semifinals, winning the decisive game in the Big Apple 119-81.

New York are a tough nut to crack on home ground, but Pacers will be no pushovers in the opening two fixtures in the Garden. Indiana made light work of Cleveland Cavaliers in the semifinals, winning the series 4-1.

Game one between the two evenly matched teams could go either way, but we are backing Rick Carlisle’s side to secure a narrow away victory. Pacers are priced at 2.44 to take a 1-0 series lead.

Thunder to Make Home Advantage Count

Thunder and Timberwolves get their Conference final underway at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City in midweek. Oklahoma finished top of the Western Conference in the regular season and are many people’s favourites to be crowned NBA champions.

Thunder are fancied to get the series up and running with a home win, priced at just 1.32. Timberwolves, who can beat any side on their day, head to Oklahoma as the 3.30 underdogs. However, the playoffs are unpredictable, and both teams will fancy their chances in game one.

Thunder got the better of Denver Nuggets in the semifinals, winning the seven-game series four to three. As for Timberwolves, they eased past Golden State Warriors in five games (4-1) to book their place in the Conference finals.

Timberwolves will be tough opponents, but Thunder should make home advantage count. Oklahoma to win -4.5 at 1.57 has caught the eye.
