Malta have taken one point from their opening three Group G matches. They lost 1-0 at home to Finland and 2-0 to Poland in Warsaw, but Emilio De Leo’s side did manage to grab a draw against Lithuania at the weekend.
The Maltese won three in a row and went four games unbeaten at the end of 2024, but their last competitive victory came against Moldova in the Nations League in October. This will be another tough test for the country ranked 169th in the world.
