Bet on the Open de FranceThe Tournament Contenders
With the first edition of the event dating back to 1906, this is one of the oldest tournaments around. This weekend’s competition will be the 107th Open de France.
Englishman Dan Bradbury won the 2024 version, beating four players to the line by a single stroke. He was the first British winner since Tommy Fleetwood won the 101st in 2017.
The big guns of golf are gearing up for next week’s Ryder Cup, but there are several notable names in the Open de France field. Harry Hall heads to Saint-Nom-la-Breteche as the bookies’ favourite at 10.00.
Hall has been in solid form this season, and the 28-year-old from Camborne, England, is looking to build on last year’s ISCO Championship success.
Corey Conners is next on the list at 12.00. Conners is a two-time PGA Tour winner, coming out on top in the Valero Texas Open on two occasions. The Canadian is due a tournament win, having not lifted a trophy since April 2023.
Min Woo Lee has won a tournament on the PGA Tour this year, beating Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland by 1 stroke to get his hands on the Texas Children’s Houston Open trophy in March.
The Perth-born 27-year-old has also won three events on the European Tour, most recently the 2024 Australian PGA Championship. The Aussie is priced at 16.00 to prevail this weekend.
Further back in the pre-tournament betting market are Angel Ayora, Michael Kim, and Jordan Smith, all priced at 22.00. All are capable of winning this year’s Open de France.
Elsewhere, Adrien Saddler is available at 25.00, while Ryan Fox, Kristoffer Reitan, Victor Perez, and Thomas Dentry are all priced at 26.00.
Can the Aussie Build on March’s Houston Open Success?
The betting is wide open this year, with no real standout favourite. A familiar face could come out on top, or we could see a new name etched onto a European Tour trophy.
Min Woo Lee has already won a tournament this year, with March’s Texas Children’s Houston Open being the first PGA Tour success of his career. We are backing “Woozy” to build on that by winning this weekend’s Open de France (16.00).
As for our outsider pick, Brooks Koepka at 50.00 has caught the eye. It has been a tough few years for now 35-year-old, but the American has won many tournaments since turning professional in 2012.
Can Koepka turn back the clock and secure a much-needed victory in France? Odds of 50.00 are surely worth a punt.
