The Tournament Contenders

Since its inception in 2019, five players have won the Rocket Classic. Cameron Davis has won the tournament twice, with his first victory coming in 2021.

Davis racked up his second Rocket Classic triumph last year, beating Akshay Bhatia, Min Woo Lee, Aaron Rai, and Davis Thompson by a stroke. Those are his only two PGA Tour wins since turning professional in 2016.

Nate Lashley won the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic in 2019, while Bryson DeChambeau prevailed in 2020. Tony Finau and Rickie Fowler are the other two Rocket Classic champions.

The betting for this year’s edition is wide open. Collin Morikawa is the slight favourite at 12.00, while Keegan Bradley and Patrick Cantlay are available at 15.00.

Morikawa is gunning for his first tournament victory of the year. The 28-year-old Californian has not tasted a victory since winning the Zozo Championship in 2023.

Bradley, the joint second favourite, won last week’s Travelers Championship. He impressed at TPC at River Highlands, scoring 265 to beat Tommy Fleetwood and Russell Henley by 1 stroke.

Cantlay is looking for his first win on the PGA Tour since the BMW Championship in 2022. He was in fine fettle a few years ago, and the 33-year-old would love to rekindle his form at the halfway point of 2025.

Ben Griffin has won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans (with Andrew Novak), and the Charles Schwab Challenge this season. The 29-year-old is starting to make a name for himself, and he is the fourth favourite this weekend at 20.00.

Hideki Matsuyama and Harry Hall are priced at 25.00, while you can get 30.00 for Wyndham Clark, Si Woo Kim, and Cameron Young.

Can In-Form Griffin Chalk Up Another PGA Win?

With no real outright favourite, this year’s Rocket Classic is tough to call. Many will be backing Morikawa, but we have a sneaky feeling for Griffin.

The North Carolina ace has taken time to settle as a PGA Tour player since debuting in 2018, but patience has been key, as Griffin has won two PGA events in the past couple of months.

Griffin is available at the tempting betting odds of 20.00, and the current Charles Schwab champion is our pick to win the 2025 Rocket Classic.
