The Tournament Contenders

Scheffler won this event last year, beating Colin Morikawa to the line by 4 strokes. The world No. 1 will fancy his chances of retaining the crown this week at East Lake.

Scheffler heads to Georgia as the bookies’ favourite, with the 29-year-old from New Jersey available at just 2.50.

The best player on the planet has already won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, PGA Championship, Memorial Tournament, Open Championship, and BMW Championship this season. Can he add another trophy to his growing cabinet?

Rory McIlroy is constantly hunting down Scheffler, and the top two in the world are set to rekindle their rivalry this weekend. The Northern Ireland ace travels to Georgia as the second favourite at 8.00.

McIlroy’s last tournament success was the Masters in Georgia back in April. Before that, the 36-year-old won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and the Players Championship. McIlroy is certainly due for another PGA Tour win.

As is often the case these days, Scheffler and McIlroy are the outright favourites, but can Tommy Fleetwood cause an upset? He is currently third on the list at 13.00.

The Englishman is a seven-time European Tour winner, but a victory on the PGA Tour has eluded the 34-year-old. Nevertheless, Fleetwood is getting closer, and he could be one to watch in Georgia.

Ludvig Aberg and Russell Henley are both priced at 17.00. Aberg won the Genesis Invitational in February, while Henley won March’s Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida.

Viktor Hovland won the 2023 Tour Championship, beating Xander Schauffele by 5 strokes. Patrick Cantlay took home the trophy in 2021, edging out Jon Rahm – both players are available at 23.00 this week.

World No. 1 to Retain Crown?

Scheffler is the red-hot favourite to secure yet another tournament win. The world No. 1 picked up his 18th PGA Tour victory last time out in Maryland, winning the BMW Championship.

Scheffler will be eyeing up another FedEx Cup playoff event triumph as he looks to continue his dominance in the sport. The likes of McIlroy and Fleetwood could push him close, but Scheffler will be tough to topple. We are backing him to retain his Tour Championship crown (2.50).

The battle for a top-five spot at East Lake Golf Club will no doubt be thrilling. Several superstars will want a strong tournament in Atlanta, but our money is going on Henley. The Arnold Palmer champion is available at 3.40 to finish in the top five.
