This year’s US Open is wide open, though Scottie Scheffler heads to Oakmont as the favourite. After taking his time to find his feet in 2025, the world No. 1 has now hit tip-top form.

Scheffler has won a host of big tournaments throughout his illustrious career, but the US Open has eluded the American – will 2025 be his year? The New Jersey-born ace is the 3.50 favourite to come out on top this weekend.

As always, Scheffler will face stiff opposition. Bryson DeChambeau, the defending champion, is the second favourite at 8.00. After wins in 2020 and 2024, the “Scientist” is looking for a sensational treble. His last win on the PGA Tour was last year’s US Open.

Rory McIlroy has made a superb start to his season, winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, The Players Championship, and the Masters Tournament. McIlroy has been the US Open runner-up two years running, but can the world No. 2 pick up the trophy for the first time since 2011?

McIlroy is available at 11.00, while Jon Rahm is the third favourite at 10.00. Rahm won the 2021 version, beating Louis Oosthuizen to the crown by a stroke.

Those four are the favourites, with Xander Schauffele next on the list at 21.00. Elsewhere, Colin Morikawa is priced at 23.00, Ludvig Aberg is available at 26.00, and you can get 31.00 for Joaquin Niemann to prevail.

Can Bryson Retain US Open Crown?

All eyes are on Scheffler as he bids to win the US Open for the first time. However, experience is key in this one, and DeChambeau has won two of the previous five US Opens and will be hungry for more major success.

The current world No. 10 has not won a tournament since last year’s US Open, but two of his last three triumphs have been in this major. He could be the man to beat at Oakmont Country Club, and the 31-year-old is our pick to prevail.

McIlroy’s success at the Masters in April was one of the highlights of his illustrious career. The Northern Ireland ace has not won the US Open since 2011, but he has been the runner-up two years in a row.

McIlroy is always worth keeping an eye on, and the 36-year-old has had a fine 2025 so far. The battle for a top-five place will be thrilling, and we like the look of 3.20 for McIlroy to finish in the top five at Oakmont.
