The Tournament Contenders

The 2025 World Cup of Darts gets underway on Thursday night. England, Northern Ireland, Wales, and Scotland are already through to the second round.

Established in 2010, the World Cup of Darts has become a prestigious tournament on the darts calendar. England are the record winners with five championships, with Netherlands in second place with four.

Humphries and Littler are two of the best players in the world right now, and the pair head to Germany as the favourites. Team England have been tipped by many to go all the way, and you can get 1.40 for the English to prevail.

Wales are also looking strong, with Jonny Clayton and Gerwyn Price representing the Red Dragon. The Welsh are the second favourites at 6.00.

Scotland’s team is made up of veterans Gary Anderson and Peter Wright. The dynamic duo are still capable players, and the Scots are looking to go far in Germany. Scotland are available at 12.00, alongside Netherlands.

Northern Ireland are seeded to the second round based on the PDC Order of Merit, and they could be ones to watch in Frankfurt. Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney are looking to cause a few upsets along the way, and you can get the tempting betting odds of 20.00.

As for the outsiders, Belgium look tasty at 15.00, while the hosts are available at 25.00. The Belgians were runners-up in 2013, losing out to Phil Taylor and Adrian Lewis of England.

Austria have finished second in two of the last four, and they are priced at 85.00 to win their first World Cup.

Littler & Humphries to Reign Supreme

England are without a doubt the team to beat in Germany. Humphries is the world No. 1, with Littler chasing him down in second.

The pair are the two standout players in the world right now, making them the strong favourites to win the World Cup of Darts again. They will face tests along the way, but we are backing England to retain their crown.

In terms of outsiders, Belgium at 15.00 have caught the eye. Mike De Decker and Dimitri Van den Bergh will represent the Belgians at Eissporthalle.

De Decker won the 2024 World Grand Prix of Darts, beating England’s Humphries in the final. As for Van den Bergh, he has picked up two PDC major titles – the World Matchplay and UK Open. Can Belgium go far in the 2025 World Cup of Darts?
