Smith Too Strong for Doets

On Thursday evening, Michael Smith takes on Kevin Doets in a second-round clash. Doets won his opening game of the tournament, but Smith is the favourite to beat the Dutchman in Thursday’s clash.

Smith won the World Darts Championship in 2023, beating Michael van Gerwen in the final. The 34-year-old should ease to victory in his opening game of the 2025 tournament. You can get 2.90 for Smith to win by a -2.5 set handicap.

Easy Win for Van Gerwen

Dutch ace Michael van Gerwen gets his tournament up and running on Friday with a second-round match against Englishman James Hurrell. The Green Machine, a three-time Ally Pally winner, is looking for a strong start.

Hurrell won his first-round match in straight sets, easing past Canadian Jim Long last Tuesday. However, Friday’s test will be tough, and we can see Van Gerwen being too hot to handle for the 40-year-old. The Dutchman is available at 1.87 to win the match and get the most 180s.

Littler to See Off Meikle

All eyes will be on Luke Littler on Saturday, as the 17-year-old faces fellow Englishman Ryan Meikle in his opening match of the 2025 World Darts Championship. Littler reached the final last year and is looking to go one better this time around.

Meikle edged past the popular Fallon Sherrock in round one, winning 3-2 on Tuesday night. The 28-year-old is a capable player, but Littler should get the job done. The 2024 runner-up is priced at 1.05 to start with a win.
