In an exclusive interview with LuckyBlock.com, former welterweight world champion Kell Brook revealed who he wants to fight in an exhibition match.
Brook also staked his claim to appear on ‘Dancing On Ice’ next year following Ricky Hatton’s inclusion in the current series and explained why he didn’t end up on ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ despite being tipped to do so.
- I’d love exhibition bout with ‘legend’ Manny Pacquiao or Amir Kahn
- I’d do ‘Dancing on Ice’ but was snubbed by ‘I’m a Celeb’ last year
I’d love exhibition bout with legend Manny Pacquiao
Kell Brook is officially retired but admitted he could be tempted back to boxing in the future if he was offered an exhibition match with Phillipino icon Manny Pacquiao or a rematch with rival Amir Khan, who he beat in his last fight in 2022;
Kell Brook: “I wouldn’t shy away from it if it made sense for me and boxing fans wanted to see it happen. Maybe we could get Amir Khan or Manny Pacquiao back in the ring. Manny Pacquiao is a legend, of course I’d love to share the ring with him. It would be an honour.”
I’d keep my cool on Dancing on Ice
Fellow British boxer Ricky Hatton was the first contestant to be voted off ‘Dancing on Ice’ this year but Brook reckons he’d have a better chance of winning the competition than the Hitman;
Kell Brook: “I actually did a bit of ice skating down in Bournemouth and I stayed on my feet! It is difficult but I like challenges, I like to push myself and compete. I’d go out and dance in the ice rink. I’m scared of heights but I did skydiving in Croatia not long ago. It was on my bucket list to jump out of a plane. I’ve done downhill mountain biking and stuff like that. I ride motorbikes, I’ve got a 1400cc Harley Davidson.”
I’m A Celeb picked someone else for the jungle
Brook was the bookies’ favourite to appear on I’m a Celeb prior to the contestants being revealed last November but eventually things didn’t pan out for the Sheffield native and he was forced to watch at home on TV;
Kell Brook: “We went down to talk to them but I think ultimately someone else got picked for it. I’ve been watching a little bit. It’s my mum’s dream for me to go on I’m A Celebrity. I’d definitely be up for going on. I think it’d be a great experience to go out there and do all the bush tucker trials, overcome my fears and it’d be great entertainment for TV. Boxers seem to do well on it, the public are seeing the real person rather than the facade that surrounds them during fights.”
